“…AND SUDDENLY YOU’RE ALONE.”

Emmy Award
“For presenting a significant subject in a tasteful and effective production”

Review: New York Post
“In a remarkably frank and deeply moving program, CBS last night examined the plight of the growing legions of widows and the barriers they face in trying to rejoin society and rebuild their lives. It was no small subject. There are some 750,000 in NY, among 8,500,000 in the U.S. — leftovers in a society that consumes males faster than females. The widow is a ‘single woman even though she may be a woman with a family. And conventional sex standards don’t always apply.’ CBS let a number of widows speak for themselves – in appropriately adult terms.”
